The 2011 ARTTEC Summer Concert Series was a phenomenal sequence of performances that allowed two established nonprofit arts education organizations to engage in a dynamic partnership to fulfill their education mission and to engender work force development while presenting popular concerts to thousands of music fans. Taking place in the Villa Montalvo Lillian Fontaine Garden Theatereach performance was complimented by the rich history and natural atmosphere provided by the close proximity to the legendary Villa and majestic pine trees of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

ARTTEC Students successfully produced each performance on the roster, catering to daunting task of accommodating a 1500 seat venue. Under the guiding expertise of the ARTTEC Mentors the ARTTEC Students filled all crew positions ranging from Lighting Director, Stage Manager, Audio Engineer, Camera Operator, Backstage Manager, Artist Relations, and many more. Student interactions in the venue were chronicled in The Morgan Hill Times feature Backstage Classes.

The 2011 summer series was highlighted with stunning performances by:
Brian McKnight, Smash Mouth, Herb Alpert and Lani Hall, The Tubes, Blues Traveler, Drake Bell, Howard Jones, dada, Vertical Horizon, Christopher Cross, Air Supply, Soul Asylum, Sheila E with Pete Escovedo, and Kevin Cadogan’s Third Eye Blind.
